Year 6 Kandinsky

Welcome to Kandinsky Class! Our teacher is Mrs Looney and our teaching assistant is Mrs Shephard. In our class we love learning through a creative curriculum and always try our best throughout all lessons!

In the Autumn Term our topic in History is World War One and World War Two. We will be investigating what life was like for both those on the front line and those at home. We will be investigating why World War One was such as significant turning point in history and how World War Two shaped the local area. The Autumn term is especially exciting for the children in Year 6 as they are looking forward to their residential trip to PGL in November.

In the Spring Term our topic in History is the Shang Dynasty. We will be examining what life was like for people of the Shang Dynasty and we will be linking this to our work in English. To really bring this to like the children will get the opportunity to take part in China Day. The children will have lots of fun dressing up in traditional dress and taking part in a range of creative activities. We will also be focusing on Extreme Earth for our topic in Geography.

The Summer Term is a busy one! We will be busy preparing for the Y5/6 production! We will be learning our lines and practising the scenes to bring the story to life! Our main topic during this term is Fair Trade. We will also be taking part in lots of activities to prepare ourselves for secondary school.

Below are some pictures of our wonderful Kandinsky inspired artwork.
