Green Lanes School prides ourselves on working in partnership with parents/carers.

Parentview Questionnaire

Parent View gives you the chance to tell us what you think about your child’s school. Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. Ofsted will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when.

By sharing your views, you’ll be helping Green Lanes School to improve. You will also be able to see what other parents have said about our school. Please click here to register with Parent View.

School Attendance

It is recognised that there will be occasions when children need to be absent from school, unavoidable medical and dental appointments, days of religious observance and exceptional family circumstances, such as bereavement, also come into this category. Obviously a sick child should not attend school. As with health and safety guidance a child should not return to school until 48 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea.

Holidays will not be authorised during term time, as in guidance with legislative changes introduced in September 2013.

Attendance awards are presented every term.

In the case of all absences you are required to telephone the school on each day of non-attendance or a written note informing us of planned appointments. Alternatively please come into the school office.

Please note that we have a 24 hour absence line in which you can inform us of your child’s absence from school.

If no letter of explanation or telephone call is received from you, then the child’s absence will be marked in the register and you will be contacted regarding why your child is not at school.
