Children with long hair should attend school with their hair tied back so as not to interfere with their comfort, hygiene and safety when working, eating or engaged in art, craft and sporting activities.  We ask that children’s hair colour is natural.

Shoes with raised heels are not at all suitable for many of the activities that the children carry out.

Children should have a change of clothing for P.E. and for games:

  • White T-shirt
  • Green or black shorts
  • Tracksuits plain black or grey or green
  • Black plimsolls/trainers Foundation/KS1
  • Trainers KS2

All clothing should be clearly labelled. Shorts and T-shirts are also available from the GLSA.

Jewellery

In order to help safeguard the health and safety of all pupils, jewellery should not be worn at school, except for small ear studs.  Jewellery will not be permitted to be worn for swimming, P.E. or games activities at school. Children will be asked to remove their jewellery before commencing any of these activities or tape over the jewellery.

Spectacles are not considered to be items of jewellery but items essential to the safe functioning of the wearer. We encourage you to buy a wrist watch for your child so that they can learn the time.
