At Green Lanes School, our food is supplied by Hertfordshire Catering Limited. HCL provide a 'Good School Food' menu which complies full with the Government's Nutrients and Food Based Standards. 

School Dinners cost £3.15 per day (subject to price increases) and should be paid in advance. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will receive Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) meaning school meals will be free to children in these year groups. Please ensure if your child is entitled to benefit related Free School Meals you still apply for this online as your child will be entitled to additional benefits.

HCL uses School Grid as their preferred meal ordering platform. The school will set up your School Grid account for you. Parents are urged to pre-order meals in advance and by no later than 9.30am on the day. HCL are unable to amend daily menu choices based on a pupil's preferences. If your child does not like any of the choices on any particular day, please send them in with a packed lunch as HCL will be unable to offer an alternative. If your child is absent or away for lunch due to an appointment, please ensure you cancel your pre-order on School Grid or you will be charged. 

If your child has an allergy, food intolerance or religious diet, you will need to apply for a Special Menu through Hertfordshire Catering Limited. Please note that we do not provide a Halal menu.

If your child brings in a packed lunch, please ensure these consist of healthy food items and do not contain nuts in any form. This includes nut butters, nutella, pesto sauce, satay sauce etc.
